Maarten Noyons is the founder of the IMGA. He is in charge of management and strategic partnerships for the IMGA when he is not playing the latest mobile game or chess. Ahmed Alsafar is a veteran of the Massively Multiplayer Online, and mobile games space in MENA with vast experience in publishing, operation, and business development. Experienced in the selection of international games for MENA launches from license negotiations to localisation, user acquisition, operations, and community management. He has a fantastic success record over ten years helping global game companies enter the Middle East. ...
Christian Calderon is a data-minded marketer with a passion for econometrics and video games. His professional specialty lies in predictive modeling for freemium products. Christian started his career as an investment banker, where he completed over 30 transactions totaling over $3 billion in value. After Banking, Christian joined KIXEYE, an SF-based games studio, to lead their revenue team. Christian then served as VP of Marketing & Revenue at Dots, an NYC-based mobile games studio where he launched the hit game Two Dots. Christian then joined Ketchapp as their Chief Revenue Officer, a Paris-based games company with over 1 billion downloads that was acquired by Ubisoft in 2016. Christian is now the CEO of Gamejam, a Vietnam-based game studio focused on building fun and beautiful mobile games. ...
Martine Spaans A regular speaker at conferences such as Pocket Gamer Connects, Martine Spaans is owner and manager of publisher Tamalaki. Tamalaki is a mobile label focusing on casual games for a female audience (such as hidden object, match-three, simulation and puzzle games). She also helps FGL Publishing as business development manager. They cater to a slightly different audience on mobile with bingo, mah-jong, idle games and strategy puzzlers. Martine is also a Women in Games ambassador and has been an IMGA judge for many years. Sabrina Carmona has been a producer for over nine years and is now working on top class titles at King, London, such as Farm Heroes Saga. From having her own studio back in Sao Paulo – where she is originally from – she has led the development of games from mobile to console, from companies like Square Enix to King, in a total of six countries: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Germany Sweden and now the UK. Whether it’s in Portuguese, English or Spanish, she is passionate on creating the right environment to enable culturally diverse teams to do what they do best: make games. ...
Sonja Angesleva is product lead at Zynga, an experimental game dev and a top 100 ICT influencer in Finland. She has led Finnish game industry associations IGDA Finland, Women in Games and Neogames, and in her career, she has developed tools for mobile game developers at Unity and Scoreloop. Zynga is a leading developer of the world’s most popular social games that are played by millions of people around the world each day. Her role there entails product planning, player validation, and analytics. She has received the IGDA Finland Lifetime Award (Nov 2014) and the internationalization award of the President of the Republic of Finland in 2012 for her work for the Finnish games industry and IGDA Finland. ...
Shahid Ahmad has been named one of Games Industry International’s Top 10 Persons of the Year and 100 Top Influencers in the British Games Industry, Develop’s 25 People that Changed Games, one of MCV’s Brit List 100 and received Develop’s Publishing Hero award for his team’s role in opening PlayStation up to developers and for commissioning over 100 titles, including No Man’s Sky, Hellblade, The Persistence and Velocity 2X. Now in his 38th year in the video games industry, Shahid has come full circle back to his roots as a game developer, founding Ultimatum Games, recently releasing “Virtue Reality”. Chris James Founder and CEO of Steel Media (publishers of consumer media channels Pocket Gamer, 148Apps and AppSpy, leading B2B portal PocketGamer.Biz, the PG Connects conferences, Big Indie Pitches and numerous other international events) Chris has been working at the heart of the mobile games industry for over 12 years (after a previous decade in games media as journalist and editor). Reine Abbas is one of the first female game designers in the Middle East and the first to be a founder of a game company. She is the COO and Co-founder of Wixel Studios, the first independent gaming company in Lebanon and one of the first in the MENA region. She is also the CEO and founder of Spica Tech, one of the few gaming academies in the region. Abbas’s work has been recognised around the world and she has won many awards, including the Women in Technology Award 2010, the WOW award for artistic expressions 2013 at the 6th New Arab Woman Forum, Inc.com’s five most powerful women in gaming in 2013, one of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Arab Women in both 2014 and 2015 as selected by ArabianBusiness.com, she was the winner of the MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab Region competition 2017, MENA Region winner in the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards of 2019.
