is currently serving as VP Business Development at GameRefinery, a Finnish company providing feature level analytics and market insights to a number of high profile clients in the mobile game space. With a broad background in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years that includes executive positions in Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, Design and Development on multiple platforms, Kay contributed to dozens of games, and brings a breadth of experience to his role.
Recently Kay has been working with Paladin Studios, initiating a number of high profile deals with large, international mobile publishers, for external and Paladins own IP based games.
He has been working as GM for Perfect World Europe, and was responsible for the daily operations and strategy for their MMO games portfolio.
Over the last years he held executive roles as CEO and VP for a number of clients in the games space.
During his time at Nokia he worked on iconic mobile games like Snakes, Reset Generation and Creatures of the Deep. In a previous role Kay was heading the Industry Marketing Activities for Nokia Games and also held wide B2B Marketing responsibility, managing partnerships and defining and building up the N-Gage developer program.
Kay gained extensive experience in project management and new product development working for General Electrics Industrial Systems in Europe and North America. He co-filed a marketing patent that got introduced into a wide range of industrial products.
Kay is a member of IGDA and AIAS and a founding Advisory Board member for the Dubai World Games under patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is a regular speaker on topics of games, marketing and media convergence at events around the world like gamescom, GDC, GC, XML and others.
